You wooed me with your cocky grin, the way you said my name,
You hooked me first then reeled me in, assuming I was tame.
We laughed, we talked, we kissed, we loved, I thought that it was fun,
But then you bit and claimed to own- I knew that we were done.
You should have been a one night stand, not a relationship,
I learned my lesson there, it seems, I thank you for the tip.
From now on Ill have stricter guides on choosing who to try,
Men, not boys, and substance please, combined with a kinder eye.
Bruises fade with time, I know, and intent determines all,
Forgiveness I have granted you, though I am not your thrall.
I do not judge you for what passed between us on that night,
I learned so much about myself from just one simple bite.
Ill miss the comfort of your arms, Ill miss the warmth, its true,
But that Im sure Ill live without, Ill keep my pride, not you.
